Very investment heavy and takes quite a bit of practice to pilot it. Personally, I'd suggest picking a DPS class as your first for the story, getting to Punika and then boosting a support with the Punika pass.

Paladin has a lot of cool looking aoes Gunslinger can be another good choice, though you're squishy, you have plenty of mobility, and your range on snipe can help you get uptime on mechanics. Warlord/Gunlancer is easily the best solo class. I think this is a somewhat risky answer. There are a lot of disclaimers to make.I would say Blue Gunlancer, very fun - has a good build for chaos. Immortal in most content minus raid wipe mechs. Some people don't like backward dash, so you have to remember that too. I also love Scrapper (i play Shock), imho more fun than Glavier. So at least for gunlancer the class doesn't really feel fun till you get the actual abilities your class will use (level 30 and so on). The test a class function not really representative of many classes since it just gives you the base 8 abilities you get after going through the prologue. The class can stay at mid range and just dish out damage even if the guardian gets in your face you can just shield or use a ability with protection ruin or one of the build in shields in the damaging abilities. Just over all a really fun class, it’s like a male sorceress but doesn’t hit as hard and can actually take a few hits. For me, Destroyer and Eso striker, and planning on making EO soulfist or gunlancer to see who I enjoy the most. For me iv been really enjoying the gameplay of Gunlancer, I normally don't play tanky characters but thought I'd give it a try, not dying while also being able to give teammates shields and doing decent damage is pretty fun, though I'm still only only at the beginning of T2 so I'm ... So I'll go by class/specs tried in order: Instant cast Reflux Sorc - the most fun class in the game for me, you just pump dps with insane survivability thanks to multiple dashes and shield. 1st place on the fun ranking. Costly in terms of rune investment, atm needs Legendary Conviction/Judgement. So far, the endgame content I'm enjoying the most is Monster Hu- uh, I mean, Guardian raids. I'm really enjoying soloing them. One class that I'm already playing is Striker - I'm really enjoying it for group play and PvP, but I find it a little frustrating to use in solo due to lack of overall push immunities and over reliance on back attacks .
